Google Cloud Logs

Connect your Google Cloud Logging instance to NOFire AI to query and analyze application and infrastructure logs across GCP environments. NOFire AI uses these logs during investigation and automated root cause analysis.

Prerequisites

• A Google Cloud project, and permission to create service accounts and keys in it.
• Your Google Cloud project ID.

Step 1: Create service account and obtain credentials

Navigate to Google Cloud Console

1. Sign in to the Google Cloud Console
2. Select your project or create a new one if needed
3. Copy your Project ID: At the top of the console, note your Project ID. You will need this later.
4. Navigate to IAM & Admin: In the left sidebar, go to IAM & Admin > Service Accounts
5. Create Service Account: Click + CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT at the top
6. Configure Service Account Details:
   • Enter a name like nofireai-logs-reader
   • Add a description like “Service account for NOFire AI log access”
   • Click CREATE AND CONTINUE
7. Grant Permissions: Add the following roles to the service account:
   • Logs Viewer (roles/logging.viewer) - Required for reading logs
   • Logs Private Logs Viewer (roles/logging.privateLogViewer) - Optional, if you need access to private logs
   Click CONTINUE, then DONE
8. Create and Download JSON Key:
   • Find your newly created service account in the list
   • Click the three dots menu (⋮) on the right
   • Select Manage keys
9. Generate Key:
   • Click ADD KEY > Create new key
   • Select JSON as the key type
   • Click CREATE
10. Save the JSON file: Your browser downloads the JSON key file automatically. Keep this file secure. It gives access to your logs.

Step 2: Add google Cloud logs connection to NOFire AI

Navigate to the Connections Tab

1. Go to Connections and click Connect on Google Cloud Logs.
2. Enter Connection Details:
   • Connection Name: Enter a descriptive name (for example, “production-gcp-logs”)
   • Project ID: Enter your Google Cloud Project ID from Step 1.3
   • Service Account JSON: Paste the entire contents of the JSON key file that you downloaded in Step 1.10

   

3. Save: Click Save. NOFire checks the credentials and creates the connection. After you connect to your log source, NOFire AI queries and analyzes logs on demand as part of its automated root cause analysis. Logs enrich the investigation process.

Test the connection

1. Open the Connections dashboard and make sure that the Google Cloud Logs connection status is READY. A connection that stays in an error state did not authenticate.
2. Ask NOFire a question that needs logs, for example “show me the errors for the checkout service in the last hour”. An answer that quotes your log lines confirms the connection works end to end.
