Connecting your Google Cloud Logging instance to NOFire AI enables powerful querying and analysis of application and infrastructure logs across GCP environments during investigation and an automated root cause analysis.

Google Cloud Logging uses service accounts for secure authentication. NOFire AI requires a service account with appropriate log reading permissions to access your logs.

Step 1: Create Service Account and Obtain Credentials

Navigate to Google Cloud Console

Sign in to the Google Cloud Console
Select your project or create a new one if needed
Copy your Project ID: At the top of the console, note your Project ID. You’ll need this later.
Navigate to IAM & Admin: In the left sidebar, go to IAM & Admin > Service Accounts
Create Service Account: Click + CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT at the top
Configure Service Account Details:
- Enter a name like nofireai-logs-reader
- Add a description like “Service account for NOFire AI log access”
- Click CREATE AND CONTINUE
Grant Permissions: Add the following roles to the service account:
- Logs Viewer (roles/logging.viewer) - Required for reading logs
- Logs Private Logs Viewer (roles/logging.privateLogViewer) - Optional, if you need access to private logs Click CONTINUE, then DONE
Create and Download JSON Key:
- Find your newly created service account in the list
- Click the three dots menu (⋮) on the right
- Select Manage keys
Generate Key:
- Click ADD KEY > Create new key
- Select JSON as the key type
- Click CREATE
Save the JSON file: The JSON key file will be downloaded automatically. Keep this file secure as it provides access to your logs.

Step 2: Add Google Cloud Logs Connection to NOFire AI

Navigate to the Connections Tab

Select Google Cloud Logs: From the list of available connections Then, click Next at the top right corner.
Enter Connection Details:
- Connection name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “production-gcp-logs”)
- Project ID: Enter your Google Cloud Project ID from Step 1.3
- Service Account JSON: Paste the entire contents of the JSON key file you downloaded in Step 1.10
Test and Save: Click Test Connection to verify the credentials, then Save to create the connection. Once the connection to your log source is established, NOFire AI will query and analyze logs on-demand as part of its automated root cause analysis. Logs are used to enrich the investigation process.
